Online Services

Pricing varies by service— I offer both mental health therapy and spiritual direction services online for your convenience.

Online Mental Health Services are available only to individuals residing in Colorado, Florida and South Carolina at this time.

Good Faith Estimate

You have a right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.

The new law is intended to provide transparency regarding expected medical charges and to protect patients from surprise medical bills.

However, this is challenging regarding mental health treatment. The duration of treatment depends on things such as client goals, history of trauma, diagnosis and current life stressors. Some clients are satisfied with a reduction in symptoms while others continue longer as it feels beneficial.

After we meet for our first consultation, I will verbally provide you with a Good Faith Estimate (GFE). In addiction, this estimate is available to you in writing and you can access it through the client portal. If you are a current client, I will be providing you one as well.

I have provided here my current session fees, projected for a 12 month period with differing levels of session frequency.

Individual 60 minute session $150

Weekly 60 minute sessions for 50 weeks: $7,500

Bi-weekly 60 minute sessions for 50 weeks: $3,750

The above examples are provided to give an idea of the financial expectations for a calendar year. The frequency and duration is dependent on individual needs and goals.

Balance Billing

If you utilize out of network insurance benefits, please be aware that you will be responsible for any copay, coinsurance, and/or deductible. Additionally, you will be responsible for the difference in the amount your insurance is willing to pay for the service and what your provider charges. There is a possibility that you will be responsible for the entire bill. You can choose to see an in-network provider for reduced health care costs. Your provider will update you regularly if there are any changes regarding expected charges.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are services covered by insurance?

I am considered an out of network provider for insurance. Coverage will depend on whether you have out of network benefits. You will be provided with a superbill that you can submit to insurance for possible reimbursement.

Why don’t you take insurance?

I don’t currently take insurance due to the level of risk. Most people don’t know that insurance companies have a significant amount of time to retroactively deny claims. They can do this for even minor technicalities. As a small business, I opt to offer sliding scale options instead.

How does sliding scale work?

After determining if we would be a good fit to work together, we will have a discussion of a doable rate for the frequency of sessions and whether I can accommodate that at a given time.

How often do we meet?

This will depend on your availability and your needs. Session frequency can vary from once a week to once a month.

How do online sessions work?

You will download the Simple Practice app on your phone/computer. You will need a camera with a microphone. Sessions are similar to Skype or FaceTime but they are on a secure platform to protect your privacy.

Is treatment confidential?

Treatment is confidential. Your privacy is important and we will discuss the limits of confidentiality. Some standard limits include child/vulnerable adult abuse, you or someone else is in danger, court order, or you have given consent for me to share your information with others.

Do you prescribe medication?

I do not prescribe medication. For medication, you will need to speak with your primary care physician or locate a psychiatrist.

What if I see you outside of our session?

In order to respect your confidentiality, I will not acknowledge you, but you are welcome to say hello to me if you choose.

How Long are people in therapy?

There is no guarantee of how long therapy will last. There are too many factors that can come into play for us to say a set length of time. Some individuals are in treatment for a few sessions while others are in treatment for years depending on their needs and symptoms.

Does therapy work?

Many people have found therapy to be beneficial in their lives. However, simply attending sessions will not likely lead to significant improvement in symptoms. Symptom improvement often requires the client to challenge themselves to both engage in sessions and take what is discussed in session and apply it to their lives.

How do i cancel a session?

Contact me by phone at (352) 658-5500 or by email at riverswellness@hushmail.com. You can also send a message through your Simple Practice account. Baring emergencies, you will be charged a $50 fee if sessions are missed or cancelled in less than 24 hours.

Spiritual Direction River

What if I have feedback on services?

I welcome feedback as I want to provide quality care. I will check in with you throughout treatment to determine if we are meeting your needs/goals. You can provide feedback during sessions or by email if that is easier for you. If you choose to post feedback online, please remember that this will violate your confidentiality.
